education & community
Performance workshops and school concerts-with-dialogue by featured artists are presented in school gymnasiums and auditoriums and are free to students, parents and the community. Special all-schools performances are given at the historic Shuler Theater in Raton.

NO ONE LEFT BEHIND
Community outreach continues this year with a proposal to collaborate with the Colfax County Senior Citizens group.
The ShortGrass Music Festival presents three to five public concerts each season. We hope to enhance our connection with seniors in the region by offering reduced ticket prices at a rate of $5 per event. Where individual seniors are unable to afford that cost, we would welcome them at no charge. Our primary goal is to provide them an opportunity to hear a variety of excellent live music. At this time the Festival is also exploring transportation to and from concerts for seniors through the county’s Senior Citizen Centers.
